About

My name is Joshua Tworoger. I attended Kenwood High School located in Clarksville, Tennessee. Originally zoned for Northeast high school, I chose to join the KHS stem academy. Since freshman year, I gained experience in leadership and team building by being a member of the JROTC program. My Junior year, I was the company 1SG, and an assistant battalion staff officer. By my senior year, I was the official S1 officer of the KHS knights battalion. I graduated in Spring 2023 as the Salutatorian of my class.

After high school, and using my experience from dual enrollment with a mechatronics professor from Nashville State Community College, I enrolled into Tennessee Technological University to study mechatronics. I spent 3 semesters here, the first two being in the college dorms and the third in an apartment where I worked part time, with near full time hours. The last semester was very difficult, but more than that, I still wasn't sure if I was taking the right path for myself. After thinking further on what I wanted to do, I decided to change majors and move back home.

From an early age, I was interested in video game development. But more than that, I loved solving problems creatively, and building applications was perfect for this. In middle school, I learned how to create Roblox games. In high school, I embarked on an S1 project for the battalion where I managed a website (more on this later in the portfolio). I am also deeply interested in AI, both love and fear for the future and all of the possibilities that await. Most people focus heavily on LLMs or AGI, but that is not the only usage, or even the best usage, of AI. AI has the power to be a tool in complex and large-scale pattern recognitions, such as automated object detection, or even simulating proteins to be used as antibodies for a toxin or determining the allergenic nature of an untested protein. AI tools that are focused and not general, are not as commonly talked about.

When taking this into account, I enrolled into Austin Peay State University with a major in Software Engineering and a minor in artificial intelligence and robotics. I am also marked in the system as having a minor in cybersecurity; although, I have not taken any of those classes yet and am still pondering if it will pair enough with my current setup to warrant an extra year of study, without the same funding as the major.

As of now (Spring semester 2026), I am designated a Senior based on general credits, but really I am closer to a Junior when you take into account my progress towards my bachelor's degree. Outside of school, I have been working on various projects, primarily alone. Hopefully, this summer or next, I get the opportunity to work alongside a team of people again, learning and building even more skills within the career field that I am working towards.
